Table & Stove is a personal recipe website. This policy explains what personal information may be processed when you use it, why it is used, and how to control it.
1. The data controller

2. Information we may process
- Messages you send: your name, email address, and the content of your message when you contact us.
- Technical information: limited information needed to deliver the website, such as IP address, browser type, device information, and server logs. This may be processed by the hosting provider when a page is requested.
- Analytics information: information about visits, pages viewed, approximate location, device, browser, referral source, and returning sessions. Google Analytics uses the identifiers and cookies described in our cookie policy unless you turn analytics off.
3. Why we use information
- To respond to a message you send us and manage follow-up correspondence.
- To keep the site secure, available, and working properly, based on our legitimate interest in operating it safely.
- To measure visits and improve the site using Google Analytics, with the settings described below.
- To play videos you choose to load and provide the Grow features described below.
We do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies or processing, an opt-out setting is not a substitute for that consent.
4. Google Analytics and Search Console
Google Analytics helps us understand which pages are helpful, how visitors reach the site, and whether a browser returns. Analytics cookies are enabled by default unless you choose “Turn off analytics”. Turning analytics off changes Google Analytics to restricted, cookieless measurement and removes the Analytics cookies that this site can remove. Our Google Analytics configuration keeps advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalisation denied. These settings do not control YouTube or Grow.
We use Google Search Console to understand how Table & Stove appears in Google Search and to manage indexing. Search Console does not place analytics cookies through this website. See Google's Privacy Policy for information about Google's processing, retention, international transfers, and your choices.
5. YouTube recipe videos
Some recipes include my videos through YouTube's embedded player, a YouTube API service. The preview photograph is hosted on Table & Stove. Our embedded player does not connect to YouTube until you choose “Load YouTube video”. You can read and print the full recipe without loading it.
Loading a video connects your browser to Google/YouTube using the privacy-enhanced player at youtube-nocookie.com. Google may receive your IP address, browser and device details, the page address, and playback activity. YouTube may use cookies or similar storage and may show ads. Privacy-enhanced mode is not a promise of no data collection. This processing is covered by Google's Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.
Choose “Close YouTube video” to remove the player from this page. This stops the embedded player but does not erase data already sent to Google or cookies already stored. Loading is a separate choice for each video; we do not save a site-wide YouTube permission. You can also follow “Watch on YouTube instead”, which opens YouTube under its own privacy settings. Our Analytics cookie settings do not control either option.
6. Grow by Mediavine
Table & Stove includes Grow by Mediavine. Its script loads when you visit the site, separately from Google Analytics. Grow provides reader features such as saving content, recommendations, and sign-in where enabled. Mediavine may process technical details, browser identifiers, pages viewed, and interactions. If you use a Grow account or subscription feature, it may also process information you provide, such as your email address.
Grow can use information for personalised content and interest-based advertising, depending on the features, your location, and the choices you make with Grow. Our “Keep analytics” and “Turn off analytics” buttons do not manage Grow consent. Read Mediavine's Legal and Privacy Center for the applicable privacy and cookie notices, advertising choices, and access or deletion requests. Use the controls offered by Grow for its own services.
7. Who receives information
Providers include our hosting provider, Google for Analytics and videos you load, Mediavine for Grow, and services supporting email or security. Google Analytics may still send restricted, cookieless measurement when analytics cookies are turned off. Google and Mediavine may process information outside your country, including in the United States, as explained in their linked privacy notices. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the site, its users, or our legal rights.
8. How long we keep it
We keep correspondence only for as long as needed to respond and manage the conversation. Technical logs are kept for the period set by the hosting provider. Analytics data is retained according to the settings of the Google Analytics account. Google and Mediavine describe retention for their services in the notices linked above. We may keep information longer when required to comply with law, resolve a dispute, or enforce our rights.
9. Your choices and rights
You can turn analytics off, or turn it back on, at any time through . Turning it off applies to future measurement and does not reverse information already processed. YouTube and Grow have separate controls described above. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.
To make a request, email us from the address connected to the request. We may ask for reasonable information to verify identity. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority. In Portugal, this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.
10. Security and updates
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when the site, services, or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
